Weekend Getaways are the best when you want to unwind and don’t have the time to plan a trip. They are spontaneous, fun, relaxing and also under the budget. Today, I will be sharing my favorite weekend getaway and it's perfect for your weekend escape!

It’s Lonavala : a beautiful hill station surrounded by lush green valleys and caves. Lonavala is located in the foothills of Maharashtra, India and offers travelers a wide range of activities to choose from. Whether you're into hiking, golfing, or just want to relax by the lake on your vacation, there's something for everyone in this gorgeous town. Lonavala is famous for its Buddhist shrines carved out of rocks. The region is also known for its many waterfalls and water bodies.

Lonavala offers bliss in every way possible. Whether it's the natural beauty or relaxing atmosphere, Lonavala is perfect for all types of people. It's an ideal place to unwind and have fun with your friends or family!

Now let’s talk about planning the trip to Lonavala.

Best Time to Visit : Between November and March because the weather is cooler and you can also see the peaks better.

Accommodation and Travel :

One of the best things about Lonavala is its accessibility; there isn’t an airport in Lonavala but it does have lots of access from Mumbai via train/bus/car. There are several trains and buses also. You can go on a long drive with your friends or rent a private car if you want more space than public transportation offers! If you're looking for accommodation, there are lots of options to choose from—from five-star hotels and resorts to budget establishments, both of which are available at all budgets.

Places you can’t miss :

The very first on the list is Lonavala Lake. This mesmerizing and serene lake should be the first thing you see. A perfect spot to walk with your partner or enjoy a picnic with your family. The ancient cave of Karla is a great spot for tourists. These caves have Buddhist shrines which have been carved out by monks. A great place of archaeological exploration. If you are looking for some adventure then Lohagad is the spot for you. It’s popularly known as the Iron fort also. To reach the fort, there is an 11 kilometer trek, which may get tiring but trust me when I say that the view from the fort will be worth it. The panoramic view is simply stunning and I can’t describe the feeling of seeing it after a long trek. Also, if you have time in hand you can also hit the adventure parks. There are two very famous and great parks : Della Adventure Park and Imagica.

Some Cafes and Food Recommendations :

Here’s my favorite places to dine and eat in Lonavala :
  • The Kinara Village Dhaba
  • The London Shakes
  • German Bakery Wunderbar
  • Anglo-Indian Cafe and Bistro
  • Rama Krishna The Oven
  • Cooper’s Fudge

Lonavala is an ideal spot for anyone who’s looking to just have a fun and relaxing weekend. There’s so much to do there. I would really recommend you guys to go to Lonavala on your next holiday/weekend getaway.
