Mango Falooda is a delightful and refreshing dessert that originates from the Indian subcontinent. It is a layered dessert drink that combines the flavors of ripe mangoes, falooda sev (vermicelli noodles), sabja seeds (basil seeds), rose syrup, chilled milk, and various toppings.

HERE'S A RECIPE FOR MANGO FALOODA:


INGREDIENTS: 

  • 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced 
  • 2 cups chilled milk 
  • 2 tablespoons sabja seeds (basil seeds) 
  • 1/4 cup falooda sev (vermicelli noodles) 
  • 2 tablespoons rose syrup 
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (such as almonds, pistachios) 
  • 2 scoops mango ice cream Ice cubes (optional) 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

  1. Soak the sabja seeds in water for about 15 minutes until they swell up. Drain any excess water and set aside. 
  2. Cook the falooda sev according to the package instructions. Once cooked, drain and rinse them under cold water to cool them down. Set aside. 
  3. In a blender or food processor, puree the diced mango until smooth. Set aside. 
  4. In serving glasses, start by layering a tablespoon of rose syrup at the bottom of each glass. 
  5. Next, add a few tablespoons of cooked falooda sev to each glass. 
  6. Sprinkle a teaspoon of soaked sabja seeds on top of the sev in each glass. 
  7. Pour about 1/4 cup of mango puree into each glass. 
  8. Add a scoop of mango ice cream to each glass. 
  9. Add another layer of falooda sev, soaked sabja seeds, and a drizzle of rose syrup. 
  10. Pour chilled milk into each glass, leaving some space at the top for garnishing. 
  11. Top each glass with chopped nuts. 
  12. If desired, add a few ice cubes to each glass to make it more refreshing. 
  13. Give the falooda a gentle stir before serving to mix all the layers together. 
  14. Serve the Mango Falooda immediately and enjoy! 
To garnish the falooda, chopped nuts such as almonds and pistachios are sprinkled on top, adding a delightful crunch and nutty flavor. Finally, some versions of mango falooda may include a few ice cubes to make it more refreshing, especially during hot summer days.
