Winjeet by Desi Kameez

Kanchan Jangid is from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. She is the founder of Winjeet by Desi Kameez, an ethnic and Indo-western wear brand. As a single mother, she has faced many challenges in her life. She moved to Bangalore and completed her fashion design course at Idea Worldwide. After completing the course, Kanchan wanted to start her own boutique, but due to the high investment required, she had to abandon this plan and began sewing clothes from home instead. In 2016, she joined her family business. 

However, as they say, “Appki destination app ko Apane pass bula hi leti hai” and finally, in 2022, with a small investment, she started her own brand, Winjeet by Desi Kameez. Whatever she has achieved, she has done so with great dedication.  

The brand celebrated its second anniversary on July 31st. Desi Kameez offers a wide variety of ready-made dresses, including suits, Indo-western dresses, party wear, frocks, and co-ord sets, perfect for casual get-togethers, office wear, festivals, and functions. The products come in various fabrics such as cotton, mul-cotton, cotton silk, muslin, blended fabrics, and heavy rayon. 

Currently, the best-selling items are the cotton silk fabric kurta pants (without dupatta), available in 20-25 colors and sizes ranging from 36 to 44, all at very affordable prices. These can be worn as a co-ord set, with a heavy dupatta, or with beautiful heavy jewellery, enhancing the wearer's beauty with an elegant look. These pieces are in such high demand that the brand is working on introducing larger sizes as well. Additionally, they will soon be launching their own designer collection.
