Good morning amdavad as commonly it is called in gujarati language. Earlier name was karnavati too. It is located in Gujarat state and is known as financial city of the state.
❖ Gujarat high court is located in this city. Also the river Sabarmati runs through this city which has given rise to the beautiful view of riverfront. Kite festival and Flower Park are one of the attractions on the riverfront.
❖ Recently, a foot over bridge is being constructed which connects east and west Ahmedabad and is a new place for attraction as it is portrayed with unique color combinations.
❖ Ahmedabad is divided into old city and new city. It is one of the cotton producer of the country. A Newly built stadium known as Narendra Modi stadium is world’s largest cricket stadium in Motera area of the city.
❖ Various historical and archaeological places are worth visiting in the city as a photowalk or heritage walk or through Gujarat tourism buses running in three different time slots, thus receiving the name from unesco as HERITAGE CITY.
❖ Various educational institutes which are world renowned are situated in this city like IIM (Indian Institute of Management, National Institute of Design, Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information & Communication Technology, IHM, Nirma University, Swaminarayan Gurukul, CEPT (Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology) University and NIFT.
Best time to get in to the city
1. Winters are suitable to visit as summers are too hot here.
2. Rainy season can also be counted in to enjoy the rains and food stalls nearby with varieties like bhajiyas, dalwada and hot boiled corns and some local dishes like jalebi and Fafda.

By Train - Indian railways from all over the country run through this city and is well connected. Kalupur station is one of the most common destination of all trains. Other halts within the city are Maninagar and Sabarmati station covering every zone for the traveler.
